Sunday Aug 1. [1 August 1897] Walked about Lyons [Lyon]. There is
a big Perugino ascension in the gallery - dullish, very Peruginesque -
and a couple of saints, part of the leaves of an altar piece. Also a
charming Costa, Joseph and Mary bending over the Child, and a
Terburg. Left Lyons [Lyon] after lunch and went to Grenoble which we
found all upside down with preparations for the arrival of Felix Faure.
