Fri. 17. [17 August 1894] Alas! streams of rain. We breakfasted on our
balcony however. The rest of the morning we spent indoors, after
lunch however it cleared; Mother Papa and Hugo went into Innsbr¸ck,
we three climbed up the hill through thickets of Barbary and
Iruckthorn[?] till we reached the Hungerburg and then walked along
through woods to the Kreuzerbr¸nnl and so down the hill, scrambling,
and home by Schloss Weiherburg. The Rosens were not in however.
We brought home heaps of flowers. The tops of the mountains were
all white with snow when the mist cleared - it looked very splendid
across the valley. I wrote to B [Billy Lascelles].
