Sun 29 [29 January 1911] A charming couple called Baker turned up.
[Space left blank] and in the afternoon I took them to the mosque. On
coming out I met the Nakib el Ashraf and a learned man 'Abdullah er
Rasi and went into the former's house near by where we had a talk on
religion. Then home and went to the Club with Mr Devey where I
played bridge. Moved over to the Hotel d'Orient. Played bridge all
night with Mr Hillelson, Mr Sha'ul and a Turkish officer called Tevfik.
