Thurs July 25 [25 July 1907] An equally long day to Haidar Pasha
[Haydarpasa]. Slept most of the morning. At Hamidieh [Hamidiye]
there got in a fat and cheerful Turk who turned out to be the Vali of
Konia [Konya (Iconium)]'s brother. He is Kaimakam of Adabazaar
[Adapazari (Sakarya)]. He insisted on standing me lunch at Ismidt
[Izmit]. We were very late at Haidar Pasha. I found there a kavass
and the officers of the launch and letters and we got through all right.
F. [Fattuh]'s passport had been taken away at Pendik. Letters too.
Went to the Pera Palace.
