Fri. May 1 [1 May 1914] F. [Fattuh] Muhammad al M. [Ma'rawi] and Selim came in the morning. Did nothing all day but lie about and read papers. Mr Devey came in the afternoon and stayed 2 hours. Told me of the motor sent to Ibn Rashid and of the row between the Vali and the Sherif.
