Fri. Dec. 26. [26 December 1913] 25? when I breakfasted and a sharp wind all day. We got off at 7 and onto the Harrah at 8.15. Twice I saw a Saf. inscrip; the first only a fragment. We left T el Resai a little to the left and came down into the W. of that name (or Sa'adeh from the low line of hills SW fo it). Clear trace of the old road down into the valley. Many {deep} big wells, some now masdud, most of them empty. But water in the Wadi. Lots of Saf. inscriptions. A Masalla, heaps of broken earthenware pottery and traces of square rooms, only rude foundations level with the ground. We got in at 2 and I copied Saf. inscrips till 4.30 when it was too dark to go on. No wind and warmer.
